Lessons from the South East Food Hub

The South East Food Hub was a piloted food hub model which operated in the outer suburbs of Melbourne in 2014-2015. The hub sourced fresh produce and grocery items from 16 local producers and serviced 14 customer ‘buying groups’. This documents summarises the key learning which were taken away from the exercise, touching on a range of topic including managing the hub’s operations, dealing with wholesale customers and supplying through buying groups.
